Screen-Printing

How it Works

Also known as silk-screening, this is the traditional method used to print most clothing that requires a logo. First, screens are coated with an emulsion coating that is sensitive to light, then left to dry in a darkroom. Your design is printed onto an acetate sheet which is placed on the emulsion coating.

When the screen is exposed to light, the emulsion coating hardens except for where the logo is. The emulsion under the logo is washed away and plastisol ink is pressed through the screen with a squeegee, leaving an even coating on the garment. The garment then goes through a dryer in order to dry the ink. These steps are repeated for each colour in your design.

Colour Matching

While most of our printed colours are mixed to match our fabric colours, we will also be happy to match any Pantone colour for you. If there is a specific Pantone that you would like to match, please submit it with your artwork. We will match is as best we can!

Artwork

Our preferred format for receiving artwork is Adobe Illustrator. Digital designs submitted in different file formats (.jpeg, .gif, .bmp, .tiff, etc.) may be subject to art charges, depending upon the complexity of the design.

If your logo has been rendered in a program such as Adobe Photoshop, please save your art at a high resolution to preserve the sharpness of the lines in the images.
